ESPN Dan Graziano says: “Could Pittsburgh beat? It’s a given. Baltimore is not reliable, as it hasn’t been since the Ravens beat them three weeks ago. If Saturday’s game revealed something about Henry, the Steelers defense could have a bad day, and their offense, with DK Metcalf suspended, could also struggle. The Steelers could have beaten Cleveland on Sunday, and made the Week 18 match against Baltimore meaningless. Henry could make the Steelers regret their missed opportunity.”
Steven Ruiz, The Ringer: “With Lamar Jackson injured, the Ravens felt incentivized just to keep feeding Henry. Tyler Huntley, the backup quarterback, attempted only 20 passes in a game that was surprising high scoring. He finished with a passer rating of 91.0. Jackson’s back injury is not known to be fully healed in time for the next game. If he doesn’t play, it will make things difficult for John Harbaugh and his team. Henry has shown he’s still able to take over games and Huntley is able to provide a steady arm behind a strong running game. The Ravens can be confident that they will outscore the Steelers regardless.”
Jonas Shaffer, The Baltimore Banner: The absence of wide receiver DK Metcalf will be felt. Calvin Austin, Darnell Washington and wideouts could be in doubt. Coach Mike Tomlin said to CBS that if T.J. Watt is unable to practice fully next week, he will not be active. The Steelers’ defense is in a bad way, and the Ravens have been so physical that they have forced player after player off the field. Lamar Jackson being fully healthy would be ideal for the Ravens. Tyler Huntley, however, has also proven to be a capable steward.
Paul Mancano, The Baltimore Banner: “Ravens’ fans may be experiencing whiplash following this season. Baltimore’s offensive unit, thanks to its renewed commitment to Derrick Henry looks formidable once again. The Steelers offense, which played well without DK metcalf, may be good enough. This game is a coin-toss.”
The Athletic’s Dan Pompei says “If we take into account what happened on Saturday and Sunday, the Ravens will be in the playoffs. If we look at what happened in the last month, then the Steelers will win. Lamar Jackson’s availability and performance is crucial. He has missed four games and has not played as well as last year. Aaron Rodgers in his prime would not be surprising with the season at stake.”
ESPN Brooke Pryor says “Despite losing to the Ravens by 217 yards rushing a month earlier, the Steelers still won 27-22 in Baltimore — and they got 148 yards of receiving from DK metcalf who will be suspended next week. Metcalf’s absence means the Steelers will have to rely on their run game. They only rushed 34 yards during the Week 14 victory. The Steelers’ loss on Sunday didn’t give them much hope they could adapt their game to compensate for Metcalf’s absence.
