Steve Bisciotti wants Lamar Jackson involved in the hiring of coaches

Steve Bisciotti asked Lamar Jackson for his opinion about whether the Ravens should move on from John Harbaugh. Jackson replied that the Ravens would “probably” need to make changes but it was up to Eric DeCosta, the Ravens’ owner and general manager.

“Well, your opinion matters,” Bisciotti told Jackson.

Bisciotti will continue to ask his star quarterback about the future Ravens coach.

DeCosta texts Jackson immediately after each interview with a head coach, to relay his notes and get “some opinions from Lamar.” Bisciotti would like Jackson to be present in person once the Ravens have narrowed down their list of finalists.

Bisciotti, on Tuesday, said: “I told Lamar that if they call me from Florida, I’d better be here too.”

Jackson was even offered a private jet by Bisciotti to fly him from Baltimore to Baltimore for the full-day meeting, where the candidates will meet with various departments at the Under Armour Performance Center.

The Ravens search committee is led by DeCosta and Sashi Brown. Executive Vice President OzzieNewsome also serves on the committee. The Ravens would ensure that Jackson was a stop on the way as Baltimore is looking to establish a relationship between the two-time MVP of their team and their new head coach.

Bisciotti stated, “[DeCosta] will offer you the same luxurious experience.” “And I told him, ‘I really hope you accept it.’ “Yes, Sir,” said [Jackson]. I’m sure I will. We’ll see.
