Ravens Week 12 Postgame Updates: Injury, quotes and statistical notes

Baltimore Ravens won their fifth consecutive game on Sunday, beating the New York Jets to take the lead in the AFC North. The Ravens have a very short week until they host the Cincinnati Bengals for Thanksgiving. Here’s the latest from Week 12!

Injury Updates

Ravens suffered some significant injuries in Sunday’s match. Lamar Jackson and Kyle Hamilton were both absent from Monday’s walkthrough. This may be the norm for Jackson. John Harbaugh expressed optimism about Hamilton’s status but said that he has “a chance” to play Thursday night. The All-Pro Safety only missed two plays in the second half after he was injured. He will most likely try to play against Cincinnati.

According to Harbaugh, Taven Bryan, a defensive tackle who suffered a knee injury in the first half of the game, could be placed on an injured reserve. This would open up a spot on the game-day roster for another defensive tackle, giving Aeneas peebles a chance to play. Ravens can also use Josh Tupou and David Olajiga on the practice squad.

Adisa Isaac, the outside lienbacker who had preseason surgery for a dislocated arm, has suffered a setback.

Harbaugh said, “We thought that he would have a shot here in the coming weeks. He had a setback.”

Postgame Quotes

John Harbaugh, on winning the AFC North division: It feels great but it is not over yet. The season isn’t over. The season and the game are not over. In the coming weeks, we will play four games – twice against the Steelers and twice against the Bengals. “That’s it.”

John Harbaugh’s confidence in Lamar Jackson. “I will always have the utmost confidence in Lamar Jackson.” He’s not only my guy, but also ours; he is our quarterback. Lamar is doing exactly what he should be doing. He’s winning football matches…I’m proud of him for the way he fights to win football.

John Harbaugh’s comments on Jordan Stout. He has made a huge leap this year. I think that he has found himself. You have to decide what kind of punter you are. “I think he is really punting his strengths.”

Lamar Jackson’s thoughts on another first-half lull: We need to execute more effectively…We only have to score points. The last few weeks, our defense has been ‘lights-out’. “We started to play well in Miami but I feel that we need to score points and execute drives.”

Alohi Gillman on the week-long break before the Bengals match: “It is like a pick-up basketball or football game.” It’s only a few more days before you can play ….in the park. You play pickup ball. You can play basketball with your friends. “We are going to hoop, and see what happens.”

DeAndre’s Hopkins on his ability to deliver in a clutch situation: “I came here because [the Ravens] had Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Those players are playing for something and I’m happy to be there and be in those clutch situations. When my number is called, I know I’ve been down with it more often than not, so hopefully Lamar, and I, can continue building on that. (Hopkins said he was hoping for his 1,000th career reception on Jackson’s deep overthrow ball, adding that he expected to get it Thursday night.

Marlon humphrey’s forced fumble I was thinking of the missed tackle that I had had just a few plays before. We say that the more you shoot at the ball, you’re more likely to succeed. I had a shot and was able get it out… It was huge. The coaches and some players thought it was a major play. It could have been a game decided by one goal. They could have gained some hope. It was important to play that game at that time, because they already had some success.

Dre’Mont Jones, on the performance of the defense: “We’ve been [almost] light out. It was creating turnovers, getting the pressure on the quarterback. Getting hits, getting the sacks. Stopping the run. Everyone is doing their job. “D-line, the backend covers and we knock things back. It’s complimentary football right now.”

Travis Jones’ opinion of Kyle Hamilton: “That’s the most defensive player in the League. It is a given that he deserves to be named Defensive Players of the Year. He is everywhere and enables us to do many things on defence.”
