John Harbaugh, the Ravens’ head coach, went through an injury update checklist as they begin their much-needed bye-week.
Tavius Robinson, Ravens outside linebacker, suffered a fractured foot during Sunday’s 17-3 loss against the Los Angeles Rams. The good news is it’s not a season-ending accident.
Harbaugh said that Robinson could return to the field in six to eight week, which is similar to the timeline for tight end Isaiah Likely during training camp.
All Ravens injured players have the chance to return following the bye week. Lamar Jackson, who has a hamstring injury, is the first on this list. Harbaugh expects him to play against the Chicago Bears in Week 8.
Harbaugh stated, “If I were on the couch right now with a therapist, if I spilled it, I’d have to lean really hard into this.”
Ronnie Stanley (left tackle), who has not played in the last three matches or left early, will benefit from more time to heal his ankle injury. Joe Noteboom has been forced to play because of the ankle Stanley has had for years.
Harbaugh stated that “[the ankle] is structurally sound or he would not be playing.” It’s a question of how he performs on it. You can only rely on the player to know. He’s fighting hard to play. Ronnie Stanley is an important player. It’s really, really important.”
Fullback Patrick Ricard’s (calf) goal was to play the Bears, but this is in doubt now that Ricard has had two limited practices over the past week.
It’s recovered pretty well from this kind of perspective. Harbaugh explained that it’s only a matter of feeling confident about his strength and ability to perform. It’s up to him to be able to push himself and stay healthy during practice. He must run, change directions and put power into other people. It’s up to him.”
Harbaugh wasn’t asked about Roquan Smith, but Smith was seen working out before last week’s practice.
Marlon Humphrey, a cornerback from the New York Jets, went down with pain in the final three minutes of Sunday’s match. But Harbaugh claimed that he was not injured.
