The Baltimore Banner NFL staff examined the most important questions surrounding the Ravens vs. Steelers showdown.
The Ravens were asked if they could show anything during a victory that would give them confidence to return for a strong postseason.
Jonas Shaffer If Jackson looks like his old self and if Ravens’ rushing game continues to roll, I think that they could reach the AFC Championship game. There are many flawed contenders. Everyone is susceptible. “The Ravens’ biggest problem is their two greatest weaknesses, red-zone offensive and rushing the opposing quarterbacks. These tend to expose potential playoff contenders.”
Giana Hans: Besides Jackson getting healthy and looking his old self, i want to see the defense play a good game all around against a top tier offense. Unfortunately, the Steelers are not able to present this challenge to the defense. “I’m not confident about the Steelers’ postseason prospects, even if they win.”
Kyle Goon : I have little faith in the Ravens to do this on Sunday. But a rout like their performance against Cincinnati would make me start to believe. … Jumping off turnovers and producing points as we expected at the start of the year could result in not only a win but also a lopsided victory. “We all know that a healthy Lamar will be a key to success in the AFC beyond Week 18. But playing with more polish and dominance could sway my opinion a little bit, especially with so many teams with unproven players.”
Paul Mancano Lamar Jackson must play and play well. This team is not as good without him. Their shaky defensive play could be their downfall, but you would feel better if your two-time NBA MVP was at the helm of a game that meant winning or going home.
