ESPN Pundits debate Ravens’ Super Bowl Chances

After a 1-5 season, the Ravens are now at the top of the AFC North. But can they compete for the Super Bowl after being the preseason favorites?

On ESPN’s First Take, the topic was discussed and opinions varied.

Cam Newton is unambiguous in his belief that Baltimore has a real chance to win the championship. The former MVP quarterback literally sang praises for the Ravens and Lamar Jackson by rhythmically chanting, “yes.”

Newton stated that “as long as Lamar Jackson remains in Baltimore, the team will be a Super Bowl threat.” Newton said that the team was designed to dominate in November, December and January. They also have a chance to play in February. So, yes, this team is still a Super Bowl contender.

Dan Orlovsky disagreed strongly, pointing out a slumping offensive and Jackson’s inability to look like the two-time MVP he was as he played through a variety of lower-body injury.

“I’ve seen Lamar tackled more this year than in his entire career combined. Orlovsky stated, “I don’t believe he is even close to being fit.” “Can they make it, given the past and respect? Yes. “But right now, the offense is not good enough to win a Super Bowl.”

Stephen A. Smith voted in favor of the Ravens.

Smith stated, “Last I checked it was about being able run and be able stop the run.” “They still have Derrick Henry and we cannot ignore the impact he can make running out of backfield. We know Lamar Jackson is a good thrower. “We also know that Ravens opponents have been held to under 20 points in six of their last seven games.”
