Emery Jones Jr. will make his Ravens debut vs. Jets

Martin (ribs), and Bateman, (ankle), were both ruled out of Friday’s game. This is the second consecutive game that Bateman will not play.

The Ravens promoted rookie inside-linebacker Chandler Martin from the practice team, along with veteran Amani O’Rouriye. They will help to offset the loss of Jay Higgins IV (a rookie) and Key Martin (a rookie).

Jones underwent shoulder surgery following the Combine. However, the Ravens were so impressed with the physical LSU blocking player that they selected him in the third-round. Jones missed all of the offseason to rehab but returned to training on October 1.

Jones’ progress was described as “very rapid” by John Harbaugh, the head coach of the University of Michigan.

Jones, who played right tackle for the Ravens in college but was a right tackle at school, said that he has been focusing on guard. Jones said that his greatest improvements have come in the mental aspect of the game.

I feel that I have made big improvements. Jones told this week that he was trying to focus on the reason he came to this team, which is to help them.

“I think it’s your mentality that sets you apart. You have to be able to hit people, play off the ball quickly and complete your task fast. I think those guys are elite.

Khalen Sr., a defensive lineman for the Jets, will be making his debut. The Jets picked him up after the Jacksonville Jaguars released him. He is a run-stuffing force.

Both Jets defensive tackle Harrison Phillips and Jets pass rusher Will McDonald IV were questionable for the game but both will play.
