Emery Jones, a rookie offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens, will be making his NFL debut on Sunday against the New York Jets.
Ben Cleveland is the Ravens’ backup offensive lineman and has been for the past 10 games. He was the Ravens’ backup guard. Cleveland’s secondary position could have been the reason Baltimore chose Joe Noteboom as the swing tackle, after Carson Vinson was given the nod the last two week. Noteboom is taking the remaining snaps of the sixth-OL offense; Cleveland being out, the team will need Noteboom if it wants to run any jumbo sets.
The Ravens inactive list is here:
Jones’ activation shows that the Ravens are confident he can play in an emergency. He may get some rotational snaps as a guard, but will most likely play only with the field-goal unit.
All the Ravens game-day roster decisions were anticipated. Rashod bateman and Keyon martin were both ruled out of the game on Friday. Aeneas peebles, who has missed six consecutive games due to a foot injury, will be replaced by Justice Hill. Rasheen Ali will return to the bench with Justice Hill’s recovery. Cooper Rush will be the third quarterback in an emergency.
