On Sunday night, the Baltimore Ravens will face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game that could define their season. Here are Baltimore Beatdown’s bold predictions for the game tonight:
The Ravens are known for surprising their fans with the worst of surprises. Tonight, it would be relying on Derrick Henry to rush for more than 200 yards and still losing. This has happened twice this year. It’s not fair to say that it was a bold forecast. In the first game against the Steelers the Ravens did not show up until the middle of the third quarter, and they stopped running the football once they reached the red zone. The Ravens will start off strong before losing steam in the second half. This is an inversion from their usual pattern. The Steelers will score a crazy touchdown and the Ravens won’t have enough time to finish the game. 17-13, Steelers. – Nikhil Mehta
In a winner-takes-all showdown in the AFC North the Ravens will win. I would normally pick against the Ravens, but John Harbaugh may be coaching to save his job. This is a team who has performed well when they have their backs against a wall. The Steelers will, just like last year’s team, go all out to stop Derrick Henry, so it is imperative that Lamar Jackson performs well. After the negative publicity that has surrounded Jackson over the past week, I am expecting him to perform and look like the quarterback we saw in the first few weeks. Jackson will run for more than 70 yards, and carry Baltimore into the playoffs. 20-19 Ravens. – Stephen Bopst
It’s over. Week 18, winner take all, Ravens Steelers. What else could a sports fan ask for, especially after an 1-5 start? With the Steelers without DK Metcalf or Darnell Washington, it looks like this is a Ravens win.
The Ravens, however, will not lose today’s match. The Ravens’ heavy Derrick Henry strategy will not work because the Steelers will be focusing on it. TJ Watt will ruin the game by causing panic in the offense and switching to an air-heavy attack. The Ravens’ defense is unable to complete tackles in tight spaces, which allows the Steelers’ run game to keep the lead. Ravens lose low-scoring affair 13-10. John Harbaugh’s firing is imminent and the Ravens’ future is uncertain. – Zach Canter
The Ravens have won the AFC North division for the third consecutive year with a convincing win over the Steelers. Pittsburgh’s defensive unit sells out in order to stop the running game, allowing Lamar Jackson to have a passing attack on his return. Jackson throws three touchdowns, looking more dominant than ever. Henry was able to be contained for most of the game but late in the 4th quarter, he finally broke the dam with a long touchdown. Baltimore wins 31-16. Dustin Cox
