The Baltimore Ravens may have to face the Buffalo Bills in Sunday’s AFC Divisional Playoff game without their top wide receiver. Zay Flowers missed his fifth consecutive practice on Friday as he continues to recover from a knee injury sustained in the regular-season finale.
Despite Flowers’ absence, Head Coach John Harbaugh hasn’t ruled him out.
“He could play even if he doesn’t practice this week,” Harbaugh said earlier, leaving the door open for the Pro Bowl receiver to suit up.
Flowers led the Ravens this season with 74 receptions for 1,059 yards, making him a key part of Baltimore’s passing attack.
In the Wild Card victory over the Steelers, the Ravens leaned on their top-ranked rushing attack, racking up 299 yards on the ground. Using heavier personnel, including two-tight end sets and an extra offensive lineman, Baltimore showed it can adjust when Flowers is unavailable.
Receivers Anthony Miller and Steven Sims also contributed in the passing game, stepping up to fill the void. They may be called upon again if Flowers remains sidelined.
Wide receiver and return specialist Deonte Harty practiced this week and could provide a boost on special teams against his former team. However, he would need to be activated to the 53-man roster to play on Sunday.
While Flowers’ absence would be a significant blow, the Ravens have demonstrated they can adapt and thrive offensively. With or without their star receiver, Baltimore’s ground game and dynamic schemes remain formidable challenges for Buffalo.
