The Baltimore Ravens may have to face the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round without their top wide receiver, Zay Flowers. Nursing a knee injury since the regular-season finale against the Cleveland Browns, Flowers has been listed as doubtful for Sunday’s highly anticipated matchup.
Flowers hasn’t practiced since sustaining the injury, but Ravens head coach John Harbaugh remains cautiously optimistic about his star receiver’s availability.
“I think he’ll have a chance,” Harbaugh said, though he admitted that Flowers’ status depends on how he progresses leading up to game time.
NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe offered a more sobering assessment, writing on X:
“Ravens list WR Zay Flowers as doubtful Sunday vs. Bills. Very unlikely we see Baltimore’s top receiver at Buffalo. Needs more time with knee injury.”
Flowers has been a cornerstone of Baltimore’s offense since being drafted in the first round in 2023. After a stellar rookie year, he elevated his performance in 2024, becoming the Ravens’ primary receiving threat:
Flowers earned his first Pro Bowl nod this season and has been instrumental in the Ravens’ offensive success.
Baltimore demonstrated its ability to adapt in their Wild Card victory over the Steelers, leaning on their dominant run game and contributions from other skill players. Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson combined for 299 rushing yards, while Isaiah Likely and Rashod Bateman stepped up in the passing game.
If Flowers can’t play, the Ravens will likely rely heavily on their rushing attack again, as well as tight ends Mark Andrews and Likely. Bateman, who scored against Pittsburgh, will also need to step up as a primary target.
Even without Flowers, the Ravens’ offense is capable of causing problems for Buffalo’s defense. However, Flowers’ presence would add another layer of unpredictability and explosiveness to their game plan.
With time running out, all eyes are on Baltimore’s final injury report as the team prepares for their toughest challenge yet.
What do you think, Ravens fans? Can the Ravens overcome the potential loss of Zay Flowers, or will his absence be too much to overcome? Let us know in the comments!
