What the Pundits are Expecting in Ravens-Rams Game

Tom Brady Remembers Battles with Ravens and Ray Lewis

Tom Brady, who is calling the Ravens vs. Rams game on FOX for the NFL, reflected back on his legendary battles with the Ravens while he was a New England Patriot.

Brady told “Story Time with Tom” that there were a lot of meaningful games against the Ravens. “That was one of the most difficult teams our Patriots team has ever faced. Baltimore was always a hard-nosed, tough football team and it still is. This defense was built around Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. They had many talented players on all levels.

Brady elaborated about his rivalry against Lewis.

Brady stated that “Ray was a true competitor.” He was the linebacker quarterback and everything went through him. You knew there was a chess game between his defense and our offense. He was a very cerebral player. He read route combinations more accurately than anyone else.”

Brady said he would trash talk Lewis, but not engage in a physical fight with Lewis.

Brady explained that he would sometimes track me down when I was out in the field. “Ofcourse, if I hit him, he would probably break me into two.” I’d try to slide early but, knowing that I was being protected by my offensive linemen I was prepared to speak a bit of my own s—. It didn’t last long. We had a great deal of respect for each other. Over the years, we had a fierce rivalry.

“I would never get close to Ray. He was a strong man. “I wasn’t going pick a fight with anyone out there but I would maybe instigate something to get out of the way and before I got kicked in the [butt].”
