Opening Statement: It was a very humbling evening. Baltimore deserves a lot of credit for their performance. They came here and controlled the game from start to finish. It wasn’t to our standards in terms of how we played or coached, and that’s the result.”
Why the Packers could not stop the Ravens run offense: I’ve got go back and look at the video, but we did not – that was hard to watch.
Regarding the defense’s effort: I would like to go back and review the situation before making any comments that could be considered a bit off-base. I think we need to look at this again. I want to be sure that we put our players in a position to make plays whether we did or did not. Overall, I think we can all agree that the result was not good enough. It was just not good enough. “It wasn’t upto our standard.”
When asked if the team was flat, “Well I think any time – that’s what I would say. It is the easiest thing to do.” I don’t believe I saw a flat team. I saw a group that was beaten, whipped. But I wouldn’t say [they were flat]. Our guys were fighting, and they did compete. It was evident in the first half. Two times we turned over the ball in plus territory. One on fourth down and the other on a totally missed operation where we snapped the football when we didn’t count. In those moments, I thought that our defense played well. The rest of the match, it was just not good enough.”
The defense’s failure to stop the offense in critical situations, which could have kept them in the game, was criticized by the following: “Yes, you are giving yourself a shot, definitely.” Unfortunately, when we were in a critical situation, we failed to get a stop. This is why I have to go back and take a look at it to find out what went wrong. That’s why I said our team fought. We were fighting. They were completely in control of the first-half. And to Jason’s point of view, it was 27-24 and there was an opportunity to knock them off their feet. We didn’t get it done.”
