As the Buffalo Bills prepare to face the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Divisional Round, quarterback Josh Allen and other players have shared their thoughts on the upcoming matchup. Reflecting on their Week 4 blowout loss and the challenges ahead, the Bills are focused on redemption against a Ravens team that has only improved since their last meeting.
Allen acknowledged the team’s struggles in their early-season loss to Baltimore but emphasized how much they’ve grown since then.
“I feel like we’ve grown quite a bit since that game. Obviously, we learned a lot from those moments. Going back and watching it, obviously it wasn’t our best effort. I felt like we didn’t play our best football. They have a really good team, too. They’re playing this week for a reason, their defense the last eight to 10 weeks has been superb. Their offense is fantastic as well, they have a lot of studs over there, Lamar [Jackson], obviously. It’s a tough team to play, regardless.”
Allen expressed admiration for Lamar Jackson and relished the opportunity to compete against one of the league’s elite quarterbacks.
“Absolutely. I think that’s why you play this game, is to be in moments like these. We’re extremely happy and blessed to be playing and continue playing this game.”
Allen praised Derrick Henry’s physicality and speed, calling him one of the toughest players to tackle.
“I’ve been around him. He’s a great, great human being. I love being around him. He’s a positive, bright human being. He’s awesome. But then you look at him and he’s absolutely massive. He’s a physical specimen. He’s as fast as anybody on the field. Once he gets going downhill, he’s tough to bring down, just because of the sheer size and speed.”
Allen reflected on the importance of learning from their previous meeting with Baltimore while preparing for the challenges the Ravens present now.
“I think they had a game plan against us that was pretty good. Making sure that we’re covering those bases and figuring out what to adjust and how to fix some of those things. At the same time, [look at] what they had success on the last few weeks. Not sure what they’re going to do. I guess we’ll find out Sunday. But we’ll prepare for anything and everything that we can and just try to go out there and execute.”
Allen singled out Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton as a key defensive playmaker to watch out for.
“He’s a heck of a player. He’s flying around all over the field. He’s a ball magnet. They’ve got some absolute studs on the defensive side of the ball, too. Got to be aware of where he’s at, along with a few other guys.”
The Bills understand the challenge ahead as they face a Ravens team firing on all cylinders. With Josh Allen acknowledging the growth and adjustments required since their Week 4 meeting, Buffalo is preparing to bring its best effort against a formidable Baltimore squad.
