Which Ravens players and coaches could John Harbaugh bring with him to Giants?

John Harbaugh will be the next head coach of the New York Giants. It wouldn’t surprise me if some Ravens coaches and players joined him.

Todd Monken is the front-runner to be the Giants’ new play-caller. Who else could be wearing purple instead of blue next season?

Brian Wacker of the Baltimore Sun identified several candidates including fullback Patrick Ricard, and tight end Isaiah Likely who are pending unrestricted free agents

Wacker wrote that “Ricard was an integral part in Baltimore’s offensive plans, but this could change with a new administration.” He has worn out, but he wants to play for at least 10 years and will reach that milestone next year. Ricard would improve the Giants’ metric of yards per carry. Jaxson Dart would benefit from his ability to pass block. Ricard would also make a great fit with running back Cam Skattebo.

Baltimore chose to sign veteran Mark Andrews because Likely’s price was out of their range. Likely, 25, who has just completed his fourth season could be an appealing piece for an offensive that is lacking playmakers other than wide receiver Malik Nabers. Likely, who broke his foot and missed the first three games of this season, showed his potential by catching 42 passes for 477 yard and six touchdowns in 2024. He became Jackson’s favourite target, especially when things get off schedule.

Wacker has mentioned two coaches: Special Teams Coach Randy Brown, and Assistant Head Coach/Running backs Coach Willie Taggart.

Brown has worked alongside Harbaugh ever since he began his coaching career in Philadelphia with the Eagles in 2004, and stayed with the Ravens during all 18 seasons of Harbaugh in Baltimore.

Taggart spent the last three seasons in Baltimore, and his connections to the Harbaughs go back to 2007, when he became Stanford’s running-backs coach under Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh has reportedly targeted Anthony Weaver, the Miami Dolphins’ defensive coordinator as his new defensive coordinator. Weaver was interviewed by the Ravens for their head coaching position earlier this week.

Weaver spent four seasons on Baltimore’s defense line (2002-2005), after being drafted by the Ravens in the second round. In 2021 he joined the Ravens coaching staff as Harbaugh’s assistant head coach, and then as the defensive line coach.
