Tyler Linderbaum Wants to Return with Ravens After Free Agency

Linderbaum was in a contract-year because the Ravens did not pick up Linderbaum’s fifth-year options last offseason. At the time, General Manager Eric DeCosta stated that the Ravens still intended to sign Linderbaum long-term.

Linderbaum is asked if he would like to try out free agency, or if he could agree on an extension before. Before the season ended, the Ravens signed deals with other free agents. These included defensive lineman Travis Jones and tight end Mark Andrews.

“I don’t really worry about it right now.” Linderbaum replied, “I’ll speak to my agent about what the best option is.”

The most important thing is to do what’s right for you and your family. Get input from others and then your agent.

Linderbaum was voted into the Pro Bowl in each of the past three seasons. Linderbaum is a major reason the Ravens were able to rush for 156.6 yard per game, which was the second best mark in the NFL. They also had the league’s highest 5.3 yards a carry.

Roger Rosengarten, the right tackle for the New York Jets, compared Linderbaum’s case to Ronnie Stanley last year. Stanley, a free agent who was about to hit the market, had a three-year contract extension signed before he went on the open market.

Rosengarten told Linderbaum that he would be calling him this off-season to do everything possible to convince Linderbaum to sign a new contract.

Rosengarten stated, “That would hurt [if he didn’t return].” Tyler is the best player in the league, according to me. To see someone like that would be really painful.

This offensive line is run through him and he is the tip of a spear.
