Six Ravens players are off to a good start this season

ESPN Writers assess the level of panic for Ravens

ESPN’s Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler both rated the level panic for the Ravens on a scale of 1 to 10 heading into Week 5.

Graziano wrote: “I say five, but it’s also important to note that is a really large number in Baltimore. There’s not usually much panic there.” This defense has no answers to anyone except the Browns. With Nnamdi madubuike’s season-ending injury and the plethora of injuries on the other side of the ball (Roquan Smith and Ar’Darius Washington to name a few), where will the answers come from? You can now see the potential of disaster if you add Lamar Jackson’s injury to that list. This season could quickly go downhill if Jackson is out for a significant amount of time.

“I’m guessing that the Ravens panic meter outside the building is at 10 or higher right now – both among the fans and us who are objective analysts.” The Ravens rely on Head Coach John Harbaugh and General Manager Eric DeCosta, as well as their internal leadership system to help them solve problems and make it through difficult times. “You can bet that they are searching for answers both internally and externally.”

Fowler wrote, “I’ll be 6. In times like these, it’s important to remember that Jackson had a career winning percentage of.717 as a starter. This is a Tom Brady like figure. If Jackson doesn’t miss any significant time, then the Ravens can sneak into the playoffs.

All three losses were to teams that had high hopes for the championship. The Ravens don’t blow leads to teams that are winless. The offense still has to find its rhythm when it comes to personnel groupings. For example, the team is trying to decide whether to use big players for the running game (such as three or four tight ends), or to pass more often and play through the receivers. The offense has enough talent to work no matter what. “But this defense is a far cry from the once-proud team that made Super Bowl runs.”
