Baltimore Ravens’ four-game losing streak ended with a 30-16 win over Chicago Bears. Here are Baltimore Beatdown Roundtable Reactions on the team’s victory:
John Harbaugh, Zach Orr, Todd Monken, Tyler Huntley, and some excellent special teams played by the Ravens, led to a 30 point offensive performance. This is not the team that has caused headaches and pain in Baltimore for the entire season. But it was the one that played against the Bears last Sunday.
The Ravens desperately needed this victory after a week filled with tumult, controversy and turmoil. They need Lamar Jackson back on the field. – Nikhil Mehta
What else could you want? Tyler Huntley led the Ravens, for the second consecutive time, to victory over the Bears in a game that was a do-or die one. Lamar Jackson had been injured. Zay Flowers was impressive in the first half. Derrick Henry, Keaton Mitchel and Huntley all had a strong run game. Rashod bateman, DeAndres Hopkins, and Charlie Kolar all made big catches. Tyler Huntley also played well, and he should get Cooper Rush’s QB2 contract. The defense showed huge improvements despite some early moments. The blitzes won consistently, forced a turn over, and hit the Bears throughout the day. We’ll see Lamar Jackson on Thursday. — Zach Canter
The Ravens’ inspired defensive effort, with their backs to the wall, helped them score 30 points and win convincingly. Zach Orr played his best game this season against the Bears’ talented offense. Tyler Huntley gave the Ravens offense a much-needed boost. The Ravens, after a slow first quarter, rumbled up yards on the ground. They also produced some explosive plays which had been missing in recent weeks. The Ravens will need to continue this level of performance and clean up along the way if they hope to have any chance of making a turnaround in the second half of the season. If Lamar Jackson returns to the lineup, that lift will be a lot easier. — Frank Platko
Today felt more like Ravens football. The Ravens’ season was on the line and they played their best game of the year. Tyler Huntley, the QB, kept his offense on track by making accurate throws and playing with his legs. The Ravens improved their defensive play after the Bears scored two touchdowns early in the game. The Ravens are now 2-5, but they might not be finished yet. With a win, their MVP QB returning, and a favorable schedule remaining, there has been much controversy. — Stephen Bopst
The Ravens needed this victory to save their season. The defensive performance against an excellent Ben Johnson offense or the offensive output under Tyler Huntley as quarterback were both impressive.
The unit’s defensive performance continued to improve after the Rams game before the bye-week. Zach Orr was much more effective in putting pressure on Caleb Williams throughout the game. Nate Wiggins’ interception was a crucial game-changing moment for the defense.
Huntley led the offense with an efficient pass attack and gained yards with his feet in key moments to extend drives. Keaton Mitchell’s release was also encouraging. Baltimore must continue to build on this momentum against the Dolphins this Thursday or this victory will be meaningless. – Dustin Cox
