Baltimore Ravens lead Minnesota Vikings by only one point at halftime. Here are the Baltimore Beatdown staff’s first-half reactions:
A Malaki Starks interception and a Dallas Turner roughing-the-passer penalty helped the Ravens to close the gap at the half. Baltimore could take the lead on the next drive if they can stop the Vikings in the third quarter. – Nikhil Mehta
Todd Monken was unable to get his offense moving in the first halves of either Lamar Jackson game since his return. Fortunately, Malaki Starks’ second interception in two games kept the Ravens close. Monken and Jackson need to repeat their hot start from last week, or the Ravens may find themselves in trouble. – Mark Myers
This offense’s ceiling is still being capped by the Ravens’ inability to convert on the ground short-yardage opportunities. Lamar Jackson’s throwing has been good so far. Keaton Mitchell is the player who has been the most effective so you should use him more in second half.
The defense played well, except for the first drive. However, without blitzing it is difficult to get a pass rush. Dustin Cox
For most of the first quarter, the Ravens’ offense was pitiful. Henry and Mitchell’s big runs seemed to spark the offense, but once again, it was ruined by the offensive line. Like all season, they’ve failed to convert short yardage. Aside from a long pass resulting from a good pick play on the Vikings’ side, the defense had a quiet day. Malaki Starks makes his second interception, and Dre’Mont has shown flashes.
It is mainly the offensive line that needs to figure out how to move forward. If the Ravens can win in a scuffle, and if Tyler Loop keeps hitting hard enough, they can win. – Zach Canter
