Baltimore Ravens’ playoff hopes were kept alive with a 41-24 win over Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. Here are some instant reactions by the Baltimore Beatdown staff.
It was the most hilarious game ever played by a franchise. John Harbaugh, Todd Monken and the rest of the team were clearly in a bad mood after last week’s Patriots defeat and chose to give Derrick Henry all the food they could. The Ravens were unable to stop Derrick Henry, so they used him as their entire offense. It was hilarious, considering that the Packers could not do anything. Malik Willis, on the other hand, looked like an All Pro against a Ravens defence that didn’t know how to defend him. Tyler Huntley is one of the most entertaining players to watch. He deserves a lot of credit for running his offense effectively and making key plays when asked. This is of course meaningless if the Browns can’t beat the Steelers on Sunday, but it was still fun! – Nikhil Mehta
This game made me even more frustrated by last week’s decision not to play Derrick Henry during the fourth quarter. The game plan should be to feed Henry the most as possible, no matter who is the quarterback, if Baltimore makes it into playoffs. Tyler Huntley delivered exactly what was expected of him and has proven that he should’ve been Lamar Jackson’s backup over Cooper Rush in the early part of this season. The Ravens’ season is on the line and they have a great win. But now, their playoff hopes are in the hands the Browns when they play the Steelers. Dustin Cox
This was a good performance, even if it’s too little too late. Derrick Henry’s heroic performance behind a dominant offense line showed what the Ravens greatest strength is. They can win football matches when they focus on the run game, and they avoid costly mistakes. By failing to do so, the Ravens likely cost themselves several victories during the year. To keep their playoff hopes alive, the Ravens need the Browns pull off an unlikely win over the Steelers. – Frank Platko
This team is never going to be a mess. Baltimore’s best offensive performance was in a game that saw them eliminated from the post-season with a defeat. It was a disaster on defense, but Green Bay couldn’t get back into the game because of the ball control. It was wonderful to see the Ravens from old. Derrick Henry ran for more than 200 yards and scored 4 touchdowns. touchdowns. It’s frustrating to see a team that we all knew had potential, but are now at Cleveland Browns mercy to keep their playoff chances alive. – Stephen Bopst
