Rosengarten Proves to Be One of the Best Rookie Tackles in the NFL

When the Baltimore Ravens selected Roger Rosengarten in the 2024 NFL Draft, he wasn’t one of the biggest names on the board at offensive tackle. But by the end of his rookie season, he had proven to be one of the best linemen in his class.

Rosengarten’s standout performance as a first-year starter has now earned him a spot on the Pro Football Writers Association (PFWA) All-Rookie Team, recognizing him as one of the top young offensive linemen in the league.

He was one of just two rookie tackles to make the list, joining No. 5 overall pick Joe Alt of the Los Angeles Chargers. Not bad for a player who was the ninth tackle taken in the draft.

Rosengarten’s Rise to the Ravens’ Starting Right Tackle

Though Rosengarten entered the 2024 season as a backup, his opportunity arrived in Week 4—and he never looked back.

🏈 Started 16 games (including playoffs)
🏈 Ranked 39th among all NFL tackles by Pro Football Focus (PFF)
🏈 Allowed just 4 sacks in 488 pass-blocking snaps

Rosengarten quickly solidified himself as a key piece of Baltimore’s offensive line, helping protect MVP-caliber quarterback Lamar Jackson while also playing a vital role in Derrick Henry’s near-2,000-yard rushing season.

When asked what he took away from his rookie campaign, Rosengarten didn’t hesitate:

“I’m here for a reason,” he said. “I can be the most dominant player I want to be at offensive tackle.”

A Bright Future on Baltimore’s Offensive Line

With Ronnie Stanley’s future uncertain in free agency, the emergence of Rosengarten as a long-term starter is a huge win for the Ravens.

His strong rookie year not only solidified the right tackle position, but it also gives Baltimore flexibility heading into 2025. Whether they re-sign Stanley or invest in another left tackle, the Ravens know they have a rising star holding down the right side of the line.

With a full offseason to continue developing, Rosengarten has the potential to take an even bigger leap in Year 2—and the Ravens’ offense will be better for it.
