Reports: Browns request to interview Todd Monken as Head coach

Cleveland fired former head coach Kevin Stefanski Monday. Monken served as offensive coordinator for the Browns in 2019 for one season.

Monken, 59, came to Baltimore from the University of Georgia in 2022 after winning two consecutive national championships while the Bulldogs offensive coordinator.

The Ravens were the first NFL team to have a total of over 4,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards in a single season. Lamar Jackson, who had a career high of 41 touchdowns and only four interceptions, threw more than 4,000 yard for the first. Derrick Henry ran for almost 2,000 yards (1.921) and Baltimore scored more than 30 points per game (30.5), for the first since 2019. The Ravens were the No. 1 offense in yardage.

Jackson received his second Most Valuable Player Award in Monken’s rookie season as Ravens coach. The Ravens had ranked 16th overall in 2022.

Baltimore was ranked 16th in total offense and averaged 24.9 points. The average score was 24.9, which is 16th in the total offense. Jackson’s injury made it harder for the unit to maintain consistency over games and throughout the season.

Monken was head coach of Southern Mississippi for three years (2013-15). He has also worked as a coordinator in the NFL (Buccaneers Browns Ravens) as well at collegiate levels (Eastern Michigan and Oklahoma State).
