On Saturday night, the Baltimore Ravens stormed Lambeau Field and won 41-24 over the Green Bay Packers. In less than 24 hours, the Browns defeated the Steelers and set up the divisional final in Pittsburgh. Here are the latest updates on Baltimore’s win in Week 17.
Injury Updates
The Ravens were able to come out of the game on Saturday night without any significant injuries. This is in addition to what they already have.
John Harbaugh said on Monday that the team was in “good shape” health-wise. “At this time, nothing else looks to be a problem or a big issue.” I hope nothing else will come up during the week.
Harbaugh said the running back Justice Hill may be returned from injured reserve as early as this week. He sustained a neck injury during Week 12 and was placed on injured reserve shortly thereafter.
John Harbaugh’s comments on Derrick Henry’s performance: “It was one of the best performances I have ever seen.” It was a downhill run, but there were also a lot’make-miss ‘…I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the offensive line, the tight ends and also the wide receivers ….’Little Zay, who blocked people. ‘Bate is blocking people. ‘Hop,’ blocks people. All of them. Devontez Walker, 81 is there fighting and blocking people. “That’s what I am talking about.”
Harbaugh’s evaluation of Tyler Huntley: “A+. A+. You could give him an extra two pluses, or even three. It was like that. It could not have been better. I thought of some clutch plays, the type of plays you need to make. Tyler is someone I see every day at practice, so it’s not surprising. It’s not surprising that I see Tyler every day at practice. But for him to be able to execute the plays in Lambeau Field, such as the third-down conversions and scrambles, or to throw the balls on time, with accuracy, is quite impressive. To run the offense in Lambeau Field, the way that he did it, and to make the checks in the manner that he did is just A+.
Derrick Henry’s ranking of this game in his career. “Tonight, it was really fun.” As Coach Harbs said, I said the prayer and talked about the players playing freely, believing and trusting each other.
Henry’s workload: “I was only concerned about being efficient and effective in the running game. I wanted to be able to run the ball and physically run it, and focus on dominating the line-of-scrimmage, and establish the identity of the run game in every game. That was my main concern. It was always going to be [however many] carries. “I just wanted to get out there and make things happen.”
Tyler Huntley’s touchdown pass to Zay Flower: “I had Zay flowers manned up against whomever their corner was and I knew once I ran that crisp route I could just let the rip and he made that play that he need to make.”
Huntley wearing his foam cheese grator hat “It was amazing.” [Lamar Jackson] brought it to me when I arrived at the sidelines. He put it on. “That’s gas!’ I thought.
Zay Flower on the cheese grator hates: I love the cheese grators. I said “We’re lactose-intolerant.”
Flowers in his Lambeau Leap “That was a real dream.” I talked to [LaJohntay] Wester before the game. I was like “Tay, you better not let them get me in the endzone or I’ll be Lambeau leaping.”
Tyler Linderbaum’s thoughts on the run-game: We set the tone early with the run-game the first two drives. We’ve done it at certain points in the year, but I don’t believe we have done that for all four quarters.
Linderbaum’s comments on Huntley: “Tremendous. Holy smokes. Snoop has our full trust. He performed well today, and he saved us from some critical situations. You need that. We need someone to step in and take over the role of [Lamar Jackson] when he is not available. “‘Snoop,’ did an excellent job tonight and we have complete confidence in him.”
Linderbaum, on the Packers’ larger defensive packages: “They throw large people at us. We throw huge people back to them.” It all comes down to the desire of each individual.
Mark Andrews says about Derrick Henry, “He is a Beast.” He’s a monster. It’s a pleasure to be able block for him. He’s great. He’s fast. He’s very physical. “It’s hard to beat him one-on-one.”
Andrews’s take on Huntley: “He was stone-cold.” We have great faith in his abilities and he was stone-cold. We’ve seen this time and again. “The dude is a fighter.”
