Ravens vs. Bills 7 winners and 10 losers

Baltimore Ravens had a big lead throughout the game. But when the clock struck 0:00, the players sank to the ground in shock as Buffalo Bills kicker Matt Pratter kicked the winning field goal. Here are the winners and losers of tonight’s game.

Lamar Jackson

Jackson was finally on the field after a long wait. Jackson’s savage runs against the Bills defense were worth the wait. What was Jackson’s best play? The best play of the night for Jackson?

WR DeAndre Hoskins —His debut for the Ravens ended in a 29 yard touchdown catch made with one hand, while a defender was draped over him. Sheer wizardry.

Tyler Loop The rookie kicker kicked his first NFL field goals in hostile conditions. His first attempt was a 52 yarder that he made. Later, he kicked a 49 yarder. Although he made a couple of mistakes, including a kickoff that did not reach the landing area and a PAT miss that smashed the upright, he still did an excellent job.

Note Although the missed PAT could have made a difference on the scoreboard it is not his fault. Both the offense and defense could have taken care of business. They blundered, and they choked. This is not on Loop’s PAT.

WR Zay Flowers – What a night! Flowers slashed 143 yards with a touchdown.

Tyler Linderbaum — Many of Henry’s runs were aided by Linderbaum’s key blocks. One of them was a hard reach block by a defender to the edge. This sprung Henry.

Nnamdi Madubuike– Scored a sack against Josh Allen and a couple of runs. Also, a highlight reel shove by a lineman onto James Cook.

P Jordan Stout He was not called upon much in this game but he punted well. It’s a shame that one of them was not pinned on the 1-yard-line.

John Harbaugh, Head Coach –This game is the eighth Baltimore Ravens loss after a 90+% probability of winning. It happens every year that this team collapses at the end of these games.

Trenton Simpson, ILB – The Ravens rotated Simpson and Teddye Buchanan in the first quarter but Buchanan took the majority of snaps after that. The Bills gained better field position after the punt was pinned.

Zach Orr, Defensive Coordinator –The Ravens went conservative and it’s all down to the defensive coordinator.

RB Justice Hill A bad turnover that pushed the Ravens to the negative zone at the end of the first half. The result was a field goal.

Big Lead Defense – The conservative approach towards the end of halftime and in the fourth quarter when they were leading by two points was a shift of identity. The Bills scored 10 points when they switched from aggressive, challenging coverage to soft. The Bills defeated a defense that was scared.

Ball Security Protect the Football Two fumbles, one lost. Again, turnovers make the difference.

Special Teams – Bad kickoff protection. Punt return unit almost lost possession. Kickoffs that did not end in the landing area. The touchback was a result of a failed punt pin on the 1-yard-line. A penalty for too many men on a PAT. The Ravens have a lot of work to do in the special team department.

Pass rush –Only 1 sack in the entire game. Allen had a lot of empty pockets, even though he dropped more than 45 times. Allen’s mobility was not enough to produce the results.

CB Jaire Alexander –A flag on 4th down that gave the Bills touchdown. The Bills were beaten back-to-back in the final drive, as they got to field goal range and beyond. It was a terrible outing.

WR Tylan Wallace – Wasn’t much in and he committed a false start during a third-down. It was far from ideal.
