Tyler Huntley replaced Cooper Rush as quarterback in the fourth. Huntley was the quarterback for the last 25 offensive plays after Rush had played 53 snaps. The Ravens started the same offensive line, but Ronnie Stanley was replaced at left tackle by Joseph Noteboom after he was forced to leave early due to an ankle injury.
Overall, the Ravens have played more offensive snaps this week than they did last week. The Ravens ran for nearly 200 yards, and they had the ball most of the second quarter trailing by just 14 points. However, the time of possession was not converted into points. Isaiah Likely, the tight end for the team, played a season high 81% of snaps. This is two more than Mark Andrews. Charlie Kolar played 36% of snaps, or 28 total.
Zay Flowers, despite being questioned before the game due to a shoulder injury (71 snaps total), played every offensive snap except seven. He was the only wide receiver to be on the field more than any other. Rashod bateman only played 44 snaps and had one reception. Deandre Hopkins caught two passes in his 26 snaps. Tylan Wallace, LaJohntay Westerner and others combined to play nine snaps.
Derrick Henry was the most productive player since the start of the season. He played 38 snaps, rushed 24 times and gained 122 yards. Justice Hill, with 35 snaps was close behind. He was often on the field in hurry-up mode with the Ravens in a losing game. Rasheen Ali, Keaton Mitchel each played a few snaps.
Malaki Starks (52 snaps) and Teddye Buchanan, two rookie defenders played 100% of the snaps in the second week running. Starks played every down again, despite Kyle Hamilton’s return (52 snaps), and the addition of veteran safety Alohi Gillman. Gilman’s debut saw him play 44 snaps (83%), quickly adapting to the defense.
Trenton Simpson, who started alongside Buchanan again, played a large number of snaps (94%). Both linebackers tied for the lead with nine tackles and had a mixture of half-sacks, breakups and quarterback hits. Marlon Hushprey, who returned from an injury and played 45 snaps, was second in the cornerbacks’ snap count behind Nate Wiggins.
Jaire Alexander, who was present but not on the field, was also active. The Ravens played a lot of 3-safety looks, with Starks and Hamilton on the field with Gilman, while Humphrey moved outside.
Edge rusher Tavius R Robinson was injured after 17 snaps, and David Ojabo saw a significant increase in playing time. (22 snaps) Mike Green took 77% of the defensive snaps, while Kyle Van Noy took 29 snaps. Robinson’s injury turned out to be a fracture in his foot, and so the team will extend his absence. The depth of an already thin group of outside linebackers has been decimated.
Only four Ravens defensive linemen were active in this game. Travis Jones (36 snapped), John Jenkins (32) Brent Urban (28) and C.J. Okoye (18 Snaps). Jenkins recorded the only sack for the group and forced Matthew Stafford to fumble.
