Lamar Jackson, along with the offensive line, played all 57 snaps in Week 3. It was not surprising that Mark Andrews (46) and Zay Flowers (49) led the pass-catchers in terms of snaps. Andrews broke through with six catches, 91 yards, and two touchdowns. Flowers was quiet with just two catches out of three targets.
Rashod bateman, like Andrews, had his best performance of the season as well. He caught five passes for 63 yard and a touchdown in just 34 snaps (60%) Bateman was Ravens’ most productive wide receiver on that night. Tylan Wallace, who ranked third among wideouts with 32 snaps played again an expanded role. Deandre Hopkins, Devontez Walker and Devontez Walker played together for 21 snaps with one catch.
Derrick Henry lost to Justice Hill by a narrow margin (29-28). The Ravens’ running game, which had been successful in the early part of the first quarter was mostly stifled. Henry fumbled in the final minutes of the game, and Hill was given the majority of snaps as the Ravens played from behind during the fourth quarter.
Ben Cleveland, a backup offensive lineman, and Joseph Noteboom played one snap each as extra blockers for jumbo packages.
The Ravens’ defensive performance was abysmal, as they gave up 234 rushing yard. The Ravens’ defensive line, without Nnamdi and Kyle Van Noy, had trouble stopping the run. The snap counts in front changed when they were absent.
Tavius Robinson was the top edge rusher with 54 snaps (79%), and rookie Mike Green, who saw his snap count increase again with 52 snaps. Odafe Oweh came in a distant third place, with only 28 snaps. David Ojabo played just six defensive plays during his debut season. The Ravens didn’t record a single sack and only had a few hits on the quarterback.
Travis Jones was the main force in Madbuike’s absence. However, he left the game with an injury late. John Jenkins took over for a season high 33 snaps (49%), and Brent Urban saw a snap share of 37% in his first game this season. Broderick Washington started in his usual spot, and played 42 snaps. Aeneas peebles was the rookie.
Teddye Buchanan has replaced Trenton Simpson, the starting linebacker opposite Smith. His playing time increased significantly from Week 1 through Week 2. Buchanan, who played 64 snaps (94%) and was tied for fifth place among all defenders with Simpson, saw no defensive action. Smith is one of only two players who played every defensive snap. The other was rookie safety MalakiStarks.
Nate Wiggins was the top cornerback in terms of playing time, followed by Marlon Hushprey and Chidobe awuzie. T.J. Tampa, Keyon Martin, and T.J. Tampa were next with eight snaps. Jaire Alexander missed the game for a second consecutive time due to a sprained ankle.
