Ravens sign former first-round guard to practice squad

The Ravens signed Kenyon Green as a member of their practice squad. This gives the former first round pick an opportunity to make his mark in Baltimore.

Green was released by the Philadelphia Eagles a little over a week after they acquired him through a trade with the Houston Texans.

Green was the 15 th overall pick by the Texans in the draft of 2022. The versatile 6’4″, 323 pound lineman was a finalist for Lombardi Award and a first team All-American in Texas A&M. His physical run blocking was praised.

Green was thrust into action immediately, starting 14 games in his rookie season. However, he received the lowest grade from Pro Football Focus among all guards who had played at least 10 matches.

Green’s second year was cut short by a shoulder injury sustained in preseason. Last year, he returned to Houston and played in 12 games with nine starts.

The Texans sent Green and a pick in the fifth round to the Philadelphia Eagles on March 1st for the safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, along with a sixth round pick, was traded by the Texans to the Philadelphia Eagles in March.

Green, 24, will get another shot in Baltimore. The team had an opening for a young guard who was still developing. The Cleveland Browns signed seventh-round rookie Garrett Dellinger to their practice squad, while the Carolina Panthers signed center/guard Nick Samac off the Ravens practice squad.
