The Ravens have signed defensive lineman C.J. Okoye was added to the 53-man list before the Los Angeles Rams game on Saturday.
Baltimore has waived Reuben Lowery III, an undrafted rookie after trading veteran safety Alohi Gillman. Gilman should have an immediate impact.
Lowery, one of three Ravens undrafted rookies who made the 53-man original roster last week when the injured Kyle Hamilton was playing against the Houston Texans, was among several young players pressed to action that had a difficult game.
Okoye, who is 6’6″ and 370 pounds, has played in the last two weeks. He made seven tackles as well as one quarterback hit. Okoye, a Nigerian international, is making his first appearance on the 53-man list. He spent the first two seasons on Los Angeles Chargers practice squad, and began this season with Baltimore’s training squad.
The Ravens have also promoted quarterback Tyler Huntley from the practice team and undrafted rookie safety Keondre Jackson.
Huntley will replace Cooper Rush as Lamar Jackson is expected to miss his second consecutive game due to a hamstring injury. Jackson will play in his first NFL match. Jackson, a 215-pounder with a height of 6 feet 2, will be on the special teams, joining Hamilton, Gilman and Sanoussi at safety.
