The Baltimore Ravens have officially deactivated Lamar Jackson ahead of Sunday’s match against the Chicago Bears.
Jaire Alexander, a cornerback who has played in seven games so far this season, will be joining his college teammate and close friend on the bench. Alexander was welcomed with great fanfare in the off-season but is still dealing with long-term effects of his injuries from previous years. In Week 5, he was only used sparingly when he faced the Texans. He struggled against the Bills in Week 1. In Week 6, he was active but did not appear.

The Bears have their own injuries. Tyrique Stevenson, the Bears’ starting outside cornerback, is out due to shoulder injuries. Kyler Gordon, the Bears’ slot cornerback was also ruled inactive. Gordon was placed in the injured reserve list on Saturday.
Rest of Bears absences are minor. The starting tight end Cole Kmet averages only 22 yards per match; his replacement, Colston Loveland (a first-round rookie), could be a greater athletic challenge for Baltimore’s linebackers.
