Ravens QB Lamar Jackson returns for practice

3:25 p.m. ET: Harbaugh stated that Jackson participated in the practice on Wednesday, which is a positive sign for the game this Sunday.

Harbaugh said, “I don’t know about Lamar, but I’m confident.” I’m optimistic and we’ll watch how the rest of the weekend plays out.

2:19 p.m. ET: Lamar Jackson, Ravens quarterback, has been taking Wednesdays off for most of the season as he deals with various injuries.

He was spotted on the practice field Wednesday with Tyler Huntley, which is a good sign that he will be available for the season-defining game against the Steelers Sunday night.

John Harbaugh, the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, expressed optimism on Monday about Jackson’s condition. He noted that his health improved over last week. The eight-year-old quarterback showed signs of pain after he injured his back in Week 16 against the Patriots. This did not seem to be the situation by the time the Ravens beat Green Bay on Sunday night. Jackson was unlikely to receive an injection during a game he wasn’t playing.

It is not a guarantee that Jackson will play on Sunday but it is a good sign.

Jackson is expected to be available on Sunday, but any optimism should be cautious. Jackson was able to return to practice after two weeks of being out with an ankle injury in 2021. However, he wasn’t able to participate in the final two games. It was also the Ravens’ season that was at stake.

Jackson was wearing protective gear during Wednesday’s practice. This indicates that he has not fully recovered from his back contusion. It is possible that he wants to gauge his abilities, as he did back in 2021. Therefore, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Jackson sit out of Thursday’s practice. The likelihood of him playing on Friday will be clear.

Make no mistake, Jackson knows the stakes on Sunday. If he is able to play, he’ll do it.
