Ravens promote LB Chandler Martin and CB Amani oruwariye to the practice squad

According to the NFL transaction wire, the Baltimore Ravens have elevated cornerback Amani oruwariye and linebacker Chandler Martin from the practice squad in preparation for the game on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

Martin, an undrafted Memphis rookie, will make his NFL debut on Sunday, replacing fellow UDFA LB Jay Higgins. Higgins sustained a knee injury against the Vikings in Week 10. He was placed on injured reserves by Saturday.

Martin was impressive in preseason but Higgins narrowly beat him out for a spot on the roster. He will be promoted to future games if he has a good performance against the Browns. Higgins will be on inactive reserve.

Oruwariye will be a cornerback backup for Marlon Humphrey, who is currently out of action after a pin was inserted in his finger to correct it earlier this week. Oruwariye signed with the Ravens at the start of October, when they were dealing with multiple injuries in the cornerback room. He did not play a single game. His 2025 debut will take place in Cleveland on Sunday, and it will also be his first game wearing purple and black.
