The Ravens placed defensive tackle Taven Bryan and running back Justice Hill on the injured reserve.
Hill was added to Tuesday’s injury report with a neck problem. He did not practice on Tuesday or Wednesday, and he was ruled out of the Thanksgiving Night game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hill is a key part of Ravens’ third down operation. Hill has 21 catches and 27 targets for 169 yard and one touchdown. Hill has two touchdowns and 18 carries on the ground.
Keaton Mitchel’s role as Derrick Henry’s backup should expand with Hill’s absence. Mitchell is the Ravens’ leader with 5.8 yards a carry. He also has five catches out of six targets.
Bryan’s transfer to the injured reserve was anticipated after he sustained a knee injury during last week’s match against the New York Jets.
The Ravens also promoted defensive end Carl Lawson, and linebacker Chandler Martin for their game against the Bengals.
Lawson will play his first match of the season against his former team. He was drafted by them in 2017. Lawson played four seasons for the stripes, and will now be on the opposite side of the AFC North rivalry.
Martin has five special teams tackles this season in two games.
The Ravens didn’t elevate Josh Tupou, David Olajiga or any other veteran defensive lineman to Bryan’s place. This indicates that Aeneas Peebles (Fub) could be back in action for the first game since Week 5, against the Houston Texans.
