Ravens interview former Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel

McDaniel was the hot seat during the 2025 season. However, all reports suggested that he would remain for an additional year. McDaniel was relieved of his duties by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, but he still became one of the most sought-after offensive coaches in the market. He’s already attracted interest from several teams, and he will probably land a job as a new offensive coordinator or head coach by the end cycle.

McDaniel started his coaching career in Denver as an intern for Mike Shanahan. McDaniel spent most of the next fifteen years working under Kyle Shanahan. This included time in Washington, with an now legendary staff that also included Kevin O’Connell & Sean McVay. Shanahan also had him work in Houston, Atlanta and San Francisco.

McDaniel spent years as an assistant coach and wide receivers’ coach before being named 49ers run-game coordinator. He held this position for four years, then was promoted to offensive coordinator in the year 2021. After a disappointing 2020 season, he revitalized his unit and helped him land the Miami head coaching job.
