Ravens fan thread: Steelers vs. Lions Watch Party

Welcome to the Baltimore Beatdown watch party. This Sunday’s match between the Steelers vs. the Packers has significant playoff implications for Ravens.

Baltimore will make the playoffs in the AFC North if they win. The Ravens, if the Steelers lose at Detroit, can afford to lose tonight to the Patriots or next week to the Packers, as long as they win at Pittsburgh in Week 18. Steelers are expected to be heavily favored against the Browns during Week 17. The Ravens’ best chance of gaining some breathing space in their next two matches is to win today’s matchup with the Lions.

Baltimore’s two next opponents are both beatable. The Patriots only have one winnable opponent, and the Packers may be without Jordan Love following his concussion suffered on Saturday night. Both teams can easily beat the Ravens. The Ravens are 7-7 and have only won one game against a team with a winning record. The Bengals are 6-2 over their last eight matches, but their back-to-back defeats to the Steelers and Bengals showed that their issues are still not resolved. It’s hard to imagine going 2-0 against New England or Green Bay, but it is possible. If the Steelers lose today, that is a real possibility.

Detroit’s 8-6 record and the Steelers’ injuries on defense are clearly a factor in this matchup. The Ravens’ entire season could be on the line.

The match starts at 4:25 pm. ET. Join the conversation in the comments on CBS/Paramount+!
