The Ravens added two defensive tackles to their practice squad on Wednesday, Taven Tupou and Josh Bryan, following a spate of injuries in the defensive line.

Baltimore’s starting defensive line had been absent from practice on the day of these moves. Nnamdi Madubuike, the star defensive tackle of Baltimore’s defense, is still sidelined due to a neck injury. There is no timetable as to when he will return. The defensive tackles Travis Jones and Broderick Washington (both with knee injuries) also did not take part, although head coach John Harbaugh has a “good feeling” that they will be available for the game on Sunday against Kansas City Chiefs.

Bryan was a first-round selection of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has also played for the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts. Tupou has, however, spent some time in Baltimore as a practice squad member in 2024. Tupou was undrafted in Colorado before signing as a free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals. In his rookie year, he bounced back and forth between the Bengals practice squad and the active roster. Tupou spent the most recent time with the Colts practice squad before being released in September.

The Ravens, who are 1-2 and have a trip to Arrowhead this Sunday on their schedule, will need any extra help to get defensively back on track after being run over for 224 yards by the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football.

Both Bryan and Tupou signed contracts after successful workouts at Baltimore. Jeremiah Ledbetter, a former Buccaneers and Jaguars DT, was a Ravens tryout but was not signed. The team also released running back D’Ernest Johnson and wide receiver Anthony Miller from its practice squad.
