As the Baltimore Ravens gear up for Sunday’s frigid Divisional Round matchup against the Buffalo Bills, quarterback Lamar Jackson is sticking to his tried-and-true approach—no gloves. Meanwhile, wide receiver Anthony Miller, who has made the most of his opportunity with the Ravens, may play a crucial role in the upcoming game with Zay Flowers’ status still uncertain.
Jackson has made it clear he won’t be wearing gloves, even with temperatures expected to be in the low teens during kickoff in Buffalo.
“I tried it in practice. I was horrible,” Jackson said. “I’ll leave that to Teddy Two Gloves.”
Jackson’s bare-handed approach reflects his confidence in handling the cold, as he looks to lead the Ravens’ offense against Buffalo’s tough defense.
Wide receiver Anthony Miller’s path to the Ravens is a testament to persistence and opportunity. After bouncing in and out of the NFL, Miller reached out to Jackson for advice last summer, a move that ultimately landed him a shot with Baltimore.
“I just hit him up during the summer,” Miller said. “And I was like, ‘How is your guys’ receiver room looking?’ And he was like, ‘We can always use the help.’”
Miller impressed in a workout and has since carved out a role on the team. After spending most of the season on the practice squad, Miller stepped up in Week 16, making his first regular-season appearance since 2021. He was active again in the Wild Card win over the Steelers, contributing three catches for 12 yards.
With Zay Flowers’ availability still in doubt due to a knee injury, Miller could see increased action in the Divisional Round. At age 30, he’s making the most of his chance to contribute.
“It’s just been a humbling experience being away from the game for so long,” Miller said. “I was fortunate enough to come to a great organization that gave me a chance.”
As the Ravens brace for a cold-weather battle in Buffalo, both Lamar Jackson’s confidence and Anthony Miller’s determination highlight the resilience of this team. With Miller potentially stepping up and Jackson ready to lead in any conditions, Baltimore is primed to make their mark.
