News & Notes – Lamar Jackson refutes a ‘noise’ about his work habits and more

Lamar Jackson’s football career has dominated the media for most of its duration.

When things go well, you can be happy. When things are not going well, critics will come out.

A local columnist has been questioning Jackson’s work ethics, his relationship with John Harbaugh and suggesting that the Ravens trade their star quarterback.

Jackson had his chance to reply to the criticism on Thursday. He is set to return from his back contusion to play in Sunday’s AFC North championship game in Pittsburgh.

Jackson was clearly in a great mood, and ready to play. He didn’t spend much time with the chatter.

“I don’t care much about criticism.” Jackson stated that it was inevitable, given the way in which the season had been going. When you win, there is no noise. As soon as things go wrong, you start hearing all kinds of noise. It is what it’s like.”

Jackson is accused of staying up late to play video games, and falling asleep during team meetings.

Do you think Harbaugh will let me sleep in the meeting? That’s crazy. Jackson laughed and said, “I’m in the front.”

“I heard you [were] playing a video game around one or two in morning.” I don’t do it during the summer so I’m not sure where this comes from.

Jackson and Harbaugh are together since 2008. Jackson replied, “Yes I do believe that they have a great relationship.” As I said, I have no idea where the noise is coming from.

Jackson’s salary cap will jump to $74.5m next season. This has increased the chatter over whether or not the Ravens and Jackson can reach an agreement in this offseason. Jackson was clear when asked if he wanted to stay in Baltimore.

“Absolutely, man. Absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely. Jackson: “I don’t know where it comes from.”

“We must focus on winning now.” “I’m not going to talk about my contract until after the season.
