The Ravens signed veteran players like John Jenkins and Joseph Noteboom in the offseason for games such as Sunday’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jenkins will be a key player in the rotation of the defensive line with Nnamdi madubuike (neck), and Broderick Washingon Jr (ankle) out. Noteboom will likely make his first Ravens start at left tackle in the event that Ronnie Stanley is injured.
Jenkins’ role increased during Week 3, when he took on nearly half the defensive snaps. He could take even more against Kansas City. Jenkins’ performance was encouraging to John Harbaugh, even though the Ravens ran defense struggled against Detroit Lions.
Harbaugh stated, “He played very well.” His reps will increase, for sure. He’s prepared. He has practiced well and is a decorated veteran and an excellent player. We’re expecting him to play well because he’s done an excellent job.
Jenkins, 36, is a 13-year veteran who has started 64 games in his career and played 153. Jenkins, 36, has played in 153 games with 64 career starts. He was the starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders during the last two seasons.
Jenkins replied, “That was the week before.” “I understand why I signed up and what my purpose is for being here. I’m only trying to do what I can. I’m trying to improve. “That’s what I want to do.”
Noteboom, 30, has played in 35 of his 74 career games. He has had ample time to get comfortable with the Ravens blocking schemes during OTAs, training camp and he’s enjoyed working with Offensive-Line Coach George Warhop. Noteboom is ready to take Stanley’s place if he can’t.
Noteboom stated, “I’ve had enough experience to make it seem like nothing new.” “I feel good about going in there with all the coaching, and the guys.” The transition to learning the techniques and everything has been seamless because Coach Warhop is an excellent coach.
