Lamar Jackson absorbed 23 total sacks in seven games. This is the same as his total for last season, and raises questions about front-line protection. Mina Kimes, an ESPN analyst, examined the issue during her show. She highlighted the dramatic drop in Ravens pass protection this year.
Last year, he was the fourth best pressure to sack ratio in all of football. This year it is 31st. When he is under pressure, he is fired 30 percent of the times. I don’t believe he is losing his athleticism. Kimes stated that the offensive line is not as good as it was last year.

Jackson’s durability was already tested in 2025. Jackson missed three games, four weeks and only appeared in seven games due to a hamstring problem. Recent absences from practice compound these concerns.
Last week he was sidelined by a knee injury, and this week he missed the game due to an ankle problem. John Harbaugh, the head coach of the team, acknowledged that the situation was similar to last week. However Jackson’s increasing injuries indicate deeper issues with staying healthy in a constant pressure environment.
This season’s trajectory is similar to the 2021 campaign, in which Jackson racked up 38 sacks over 12 games. An ankle injury forced Jackson to miss Baltimore’s final five matches. Baltimore had a strong start in 2021 with an 8-3 record before slipping to 8-9 after Jackson’s departure.
Baltimore is also at risk if it does not make significant improvements to its offensive line. Even if Jackson is upright, the constant hits could compromise the team’s playoff window or their chances in the postseason.
