Mike Green and Young Ravens Pass Rushers Are Ready to Step up

The Lions quarterback Jared Goff just came off a 52 point rout over the Chicago Bears, in which he scored five touchdowns. He was not sacked at all. The Green Bay Packers had sacked Goff four times the week before, and he threw one touchdown as well as an interception.

Baltimore’s defense must put pressure on Lions veteran quarterback Matt Stafford, who is a pocket passer. The Ravens sacked Goff 5 times in their 38-6 win over the Lions two years ago. Van Noy had 2 of them.

Green believes that the learning curve was steep when he moved to the NFL after coming from Marshall University, where he was the college football leader with 17 sacks in the last season. Green stated that everyone in the NFL is big and talented. Green said that he’ll face this against Lions right-tackle Penei Swell, who went to the Pro Bowl three times in a row.

The Ravens will need an impressive defensive performance from their entire front. Nnamdi Madubuike, the defensive tackle of the Ravens, leads the team with two sacks. Robinson is the other Raven to have a sack, and he caused a game-ending fumble by taking Flacco down during the fourth quarter.

Robinson said, “We will all need to step up.” Van Noy will still be with us in the film studio. He’s always great at giving us tips and things like that. We’ll have his knowledge on the field.”
