Roquan Smith, jogging into the Buffalo Bills tunnel a week ago, was stunned to see the Ravens defense blow a 15-point advantage in the final moments. He watched the game five times over the next few days.
Smith’s 63-yard return of a fumble sealed Baltimore’s 41-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.
Baltimore’s fourth-quarter score of 21 points without reply was enough to beat its AFC North opponent.
“A great rebound win. “It was a great football win in terms of how we handled a tough, challenging week but also what it takes to win the following week or play an excellent football game,” Harbaugh stated.
I thought we had done everything we should have. They already knew what to do, but they came out and did it in this game.
In his first match back at M&T Bank Stadium, Joe Flacco was held in check by the Ravens defense for most of the game. The Browns made 12 offensive plays, but gained 20+ yards on just five of them.
Baltimore scored two touchdowns from turnovers. One was a Nate Wiggins interception that he almost took for a six-pointer and the second was Smith’s recovery of a fumble for a score.
Smith stated, “I felt like last week left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. It was more about moving forward and not letting the past beat you twice.” “I thought it was great that [Inside linebackers coach] Tyler Santucci [Tyler Santucci] gave me some great photos this week. Then for studying these players and knowing what they do best in certain situations, and then just pulling the trigger. I feel that I have left out some plays.”
