Mink Although the Ravens’ new head coach could be hired as an offensive coach, owner Steve Bisciotti has said that he does not have a preference.
Bisciotti, speaking of a coach’s hiring three coordinators, said: “As for offensive and defensive coordinators, I couldn’t really care [less].
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Ravens hired two coaches in their first round of interviewing – one known more for his defensive skills and another for offense. The head coach would be one person, and the lieutenant the other.
Peter Schrager, an ESPN reporter, reported that Kliff Kingsbury had interviewed for the jobs of head coach and offensive director in Baltimore. Kingsbury said that it would be “an honor” to work alongside Lamar Jackson. Schrager reported that Mike McDaniel would also be interviewing for both positions.
As Jackson approaches his 30s, his game is continuing to change. Jackson is running less. Last season, he had his lowest rushing attempt per game in his career. Todd Monken was instrumental in improving the passing game of the next head coach.
Baltimore also wants to improve its defense. The Ravens were built on tough defensive play, and although Jackson has changed the way the team is marketed, they would like to go back to the days of old on that side.
If Baltimore hires either a defensive coordinator or head coach who can get their defense playing like they did in 2023, under Mike Macdonald when they were leading the league with only 16.5 points, and pair that with an offensive led by Jackson, then that is a dangerous combination that could win a Super Bowl.
