Mailbag: What is the plan with Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley

Brown : Washington was not on the injury list during the week before the Green Bay game. If he has an injury, I am not aware.

Since his miraculous return from an Achilles operation, he has played less than 29,7% of defensive snaps. Washington played a smaller role in Green Bay, as you pointed out. He played a season low 14.9% of defensive snaps and yes, it is true that the Ravens secondary struggled to contain the Packers.

Malik Willis was successful in Green Bay when he targeted Baltimore outside corners Nate Wiggins, and Marl Humphrey. Washington is primarily used in nickel and dimes as a slot defender or safety, not the area where Ravens are most frequently attacked.

Washington is a physical defensive back who’s an excellent run defender. Zach Orr, the Ravens’ defensive coordinator, calls Washington one of his “best 11” players. He is a strong defensive back and an excellent run-defender. Washington will play more if he is healthy than last week. Washington loves a Ravens-Steelers matchup with a playoff position on the line.
