The spotlight will be on Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen this Sunday as the Baltimore Ravens take on the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Round. While Jackson respects Allen’s abilities and competitive fire, his focus remains on helping the Ravens advance to the AFC Championship.
Jackson praised Allen’s unique skill set, particularly his ability to create plays when things break down.
“His uniqueness of making things happen when plays break down,” Jackson said. “Strong arm, make any throw on the field.”
Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh also noted Allen’s fiery personality, referencing an incident during Allen’s rookie year when he clashed with Ravens legend Terrell Suggs.
“I mean [Josh Allen is the] ultimate-type competitor,” Harbaugh said. “He has a fiery personality. We saw that his rookie year.”
While the matchup between two MVP-caliber quarterbacks has generated significant hype, Jackson emphasized that his approach remains consistent.
“It’s the same as last week,” Jackson said. “I feel like our guys are just locked in. The playoff atmosphere is pretty much serious around the building.”
Jackson also highlighted the team’s sense of purpose, particularly given the experience and lessons from last year’s playoff run.
“A lot of us was here last year, and we know what’s at stake for us.”
The showdown between Jackson and Allen promises to be must-see football, with both quarterbacks showcasing exceptional athleticism and leadership. While Allen’s creativity and strong arm are central to Buffalo’s offense, Jackson’s dual-threat capabilities and command of the Ravens’ attack make him equally dangerous.
As much as Jackson admires Allen’s talent, his primary goal is to lead the Ravens to victory and keep their Super Bowl dreams alive. Sunday’s game is set to be a defining moment for both quarterbacks.
