The Baltimore Ravens were expected to make a big statement during Week 2.
The team’s epic meltdown was in line with recent history but did not honor the Hall of Fame quarterback and their star-studded lineup.
Lamar Jackson was at his best for the home opener against the Cleveland Browns, despite their stellar defense.
Doug Clawson said that the Louisville product made NFL history with his performance.
Lamar Jackson has now become the NFL’s top passer rating leader (102.65), after passing Aaron Rodgers (102.60) today. Lamar Jackson is also the all-time leader for rush yards among quarterbacks. Clawson wrote on X, “Quite the combination.”

Lamar is also the all-time leader among QBs in rush yards. It’s a great combination.

This is the end of the “Lamar Jackson as a runningback” narrative. It’s one of the most inaccurate and infamous ones in the history this beautiful game.
He wasn’t a polished passer when he entered the NFL, but he did something about it.
Jackson has spent countless hours working on his footwork, mechanics and pocket presence.
He will always be a danger to scramble and take off because of his unmatched pace and agility, but he is proud of his improved passing.
It’s now all about consistency.
It’s impossible to predict which Ravens version you will encounter.
The best teams in football can look great or they can play at the level of their opponents and lose games that they should have won.
It’s all because of the quarterback.
