John Harbaugh, Ravens Head coach, said that Lamar Jackson will return to the Ravens for their Week 8 matchup against the Chicago Bears. This was after Sunday’s 17-3 loss by the Rams.
Jackson’s return is much needed for Baltimore. The team enters the bye week of its season with a record of 1-5.
Harbaugh said, “We will have healthy players returning.” Harbaugh stated that “our quarterback will be back.”
Harbaugh answered the question of whether Jackson will “definitely” return.
“Is that what you mean?” Harbaugh replied, “I’m not sure. I’m saying that I know it but I don’t.” “That’s the way life can be sometimes.” You can’t always predict the future. “It’s not the future yet, but it’s the hope.”
Jackson missed his last two games due to a hamstring problem. The Ravens were 0-2 in his absence, scoring a combined 13 points during the two-week period.
Lamar is a player for generations. Running back Justice Hill stated that you can’t replace Lamar with anyone else. “Getting him back would be a big leap for our offensive.”
Cooper Rush played in the previous two games, but Tyler Huntley replaced him during the fourth quarter Sunday’s defeat to Los Angeles. Rush completed 11-of-19 passes for 72 yards with an interception. Huntley completed 10 out of 15 passes, gaining 68 yards. He also gained 39 yards on his own. However, he was unable ignite a comeback in the fourth quarter.
Harbaugh stated that the plan was to use both of the quarterbacks in the game. He was also asked why he hadn’t gone to Huntley earlier.
Harbaugh stated that “[With] how the first half played out, it did not seem like the right time to bring him in.” “[During] the second half, [we] had a drive that was going and we then turned it over. You could say this, but it wasn’t obvious. The plan was to use both quarterbacks.
