Lamar Jackson is back in the gym, but two starters are still missing

Lamar Jackson was back in the field of play on Thursday. This gives us more reasons to believe that he’ll start Sunday’s AFC North championship game at Pittsburgh.

Jackson participated in full on Wednesday, and is expected to have his 1st full week of training since early November.

John Harbaugh, the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, said that Jackson had looked “very good” in practice on Wednesday. He was also “very optimistic about Jackson’s chance to play Sunday night.

Mark Andrews, tight end, said: “It was great to be out there today. Just going through the offense and making plays. Making the right readings.” It was a good workday and it was great to have Jackson out there.

Two of the team’s key starters – wide receiver Rashod bateman and outside defender Kyle Van Noy – have not practiced for a second day in a row. Bateman has an illness, while Van Noy is suffering from a quad injury.

It continues to sound like T.J. Watt, the Steelers’ star outside linebacker, will be returning to the field soon after a partial collapsed lung has kept him off the field for the past three week. Watt’s ability to play snaps is still unknown. In Wednesday’s session, Watt was restricted.
