The Baltimore Ravens had one of the best offenses and records in the league last season.
As such, it was only right to think that Lamar Jackson was one of the leading candidates to win MVP.
Ultimately, he fell in second to eventual winner Josh Allen.
A lot has transpired since then, but Jackson finally shared his thoughts on the matter.
When asked about it, he tried to brush the question off by saying that “it is what it is,” but his demeanor showed that he was disappointed.
“I mean, the voters chose who they wanted to pick. It is what it is,” Jackson said.
Reporter: “I don’t think we ever asked you, were you disappointed at all that you didn’t win the MVP?”

Truth be told, voters couldn’t have gone wrong either way.
Perhaps that was a bit of voters’ fatigue after Jackson had already won the award twice, and they may have felt that it was Allen’s turn to get the nod after posting the best season of his career.
Whatever the case, the fact of the matter is that neither of them capped off the season with a trip to the Super Bowl, and that’s all that matters.
Both Allen and Jackson enter this season as strong candidates to hoist the MVP trophy again, but they’re past that.
They’ve reached a level at which only winning a Super Bowl will be enough to elevate their legacies.
Everybody knows they’re two of the best quarterbacks in the game, and it takes much more than just one person to find success in the league.
But as unfair as it may seem, that’s part of the deal when you’re an elite quarterback; it’s all about championships.
