Kyle Van Noy, the Ravens’ outside linebacker, may be back sooner than expected.
Initially, the 12-year-old veteran was expected to miss several games because of a Week 2-hamstring injury. However, he took part in Friday’s practice, although in a limited way. The 12-year veteran is listed as “questionable” for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs. This gives him a chance of limiting his absence to one game.
Van Noy’s return will strengthen a Ravens front-seven that struggled last week without him and Nnamdi. Mike Green, a rookie outside linebacker who was given a larger role in the defense, disappointed. The unit as a group couldn’t even stop the run and get to Jared Goff on a single snap.
Van Noy is a longshot to play Sunday with only one practice. He would probably only play a few snaps during key passing downs if he were to be active. This may force Ravens to change their roster plan for game day and keep David Ojabo in the lineup. Van Noy’s absence will likely force him to return in Week 5.
The Ravens have released their final injury designations from Week 4.
Likely’s status for the Sunday game is still uncertain, but he was upgraded from ‘questionable to full participation’ on Friday. The fourth-year tightend, who has been very comfortable with Todd Monken’s offense for the past two years, should be able to handle a limited amount of practice. Like Van Noy could rotate with Mark Andrews, Charlie Kolar and play by a snap count.
Stanley missed the first two practices. He was limited in his participation on Friday. This is a good sign that he will be available to play the Chiefs on Sunday after missing both Wednesday and Thursday. John Harbaugh described him as “day to day” after the practice.
Stanley and Likely are both likely to be considered game-time choices. Both players could be seen warming up before the game to help make a decision.
Jones is likely to play on Sunday. This will be a huge relief for the defensive line, which will not have Washington and Madubuike.
The Chiefs will be in great shape for Sunday’s match. Andy Reid, the head coach of the Chiefs, said Xavier Worthy would return to action in Week 4, after being injured for two weeks. Mike Danna, Asthon Gilotte and other defensive ends were downgraded to a lower level on Friday. They are not expected to play. The rest of the team is ready to go.
