Kyle Van Noy Injures Hamstring Against Browns

The Ravens’ outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy will miss Sunday’s opener at home due to a hamstring problem.

Van Noy was injured after an incomplete third down with 12 minutes remaining in the second quarter. As he approached the sideline, he threw his helmet.

Van Noy was the Ravens’ leader with 12.5 sacks in last season. This was the fourth most sacks in the NFL. At 33, he was selected to his first Pro Bowl.

Mike Green, the rookie outside linebacker who led the college football in sacks during last season’s campaign, will get more snaps with Van Noy out. This is his chance to shine following a strong preseason.

Green was hit by Joe Flacco on third-and-4 in the first quarter, but the rookie didn’t get his first sack because Flacco threw the ball away as Green was going down to the ground.
